Dr. Theodore Thompson Jr.

Dr. Theodore Thompson, Jr. is graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) were received degrees in Psychology and Sociology. Dr. Thompson continued his education by receiving his Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) along with his Doctorate of Clinical Social Work.

Dr. Thompson has worked as a school social worker for the Chicago Public Schools for 28 years and retired June 2017. He has been a peer mentor, field instructor, and social work internship mentor for many years. Dr. Thompson has also worked in various populations throughout Chicago including: West and Southside of Chicago, and the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center.

Dr. Thompson has also held positions with community services agencies in the Chicago land area working with adults in the mental health field and youth and families throughout his professional career.

Dr. Thompson has been educated in traditional Psychological therapeutic techniques and is very comfortable using Christian based counseling.

Dr. Thompson enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adult, single and married individuals. He is very comfortable with working with individuals experiencing crisis, trauma, grief and loss, separation, divorce, depression. He’s preference is trauma and grief loss.
